Wire Diameter

Wire diameter refers to the diameter of a single wire that makes up a wire mesh. This parameter determines the strength, rigidity and overall weight of the wire mesh and is one of the core factors in wire mesh product design. The thicker the wire diameter, the stronger the overall load-bearing capacity and impact resistance of the mesh. The thinner the wire diameter, the higher the flexibility and ductility.

Hole Spacing

Taking the figure as an example, the mesh size refers to the clearance distance between the wires, that is, the size of a mesh, usually in millimeters (mm) or inches (inches). The mesh size directly determines the permeability, safety and filtration accuracy of the product.
For example: 6mm mesh is suitable for small animal fences, 50mm mesh is common in large guardrails or gabions

Mesh Count

Mesh count refers to the number of holes in a metal mesh within one inch (25.4mm) in length, and is usually used to measure the density and fineness of the mesh. For example, the product shown in the figure above has 4 holes per inch in both the horizontal and vertical directions, so it is called “4×4” mesh, which means the total mesh count is 16 meshes.
